What kinds of internships are offered?

Intern­ships are pos­si­ble in the areas graphic/layout (media designer for dig­i­tal and printed media), audio-visual media/ cam­era (media designer for audio-visual media, film and video edi­tor), as well as in the area office/administration (office admin­is­tra­tor for audio-visual media).

What are the requirements?

Among flex­i­bil­ity and team spirit we expect from you to like an unusual work­place. For intern­ship in the area office/administration we require a basic com­puter lit­er­acy, for intern­ships in the graphic area basics in text and image edit­ing are nec­es­sary. If you are inter­ested in an intern­ship in the area audio-visual media you should be inter­ested in tech­nol­ogy and should dis­pose of a good visual imag­i­na­tion. The min­i­mum age for appli­cants is 18. All appli­cants should be aware of the fol­low­ing: The job does not only require a great deal of incli­na­tion, but also plenty of com­mit­ment, aside the usual 40 hours week.

How long are intern­ships? The dura­tion of intern­ships is vari­able, but the min­i­mum is 6 months. You will gain a deep insight into our work­ing con­di­tions and pro­duc­tion processes. Thereby you have the chance to get us to know – and vice versa.


Vocational education

In 1999 we received the right to take on trainees from the cham­ber of com­merce and indus­try. We train for the fol­low­ing pro­fes­sions:

What are the require­ments?
Among flex­i­bil­ity and team spirit we expect from you to like an unusual work­place. You should have a good high school diploma or, prefer­ably a uni­ver­sity-entrance diploma or a voca­tional bac­calau­re­ate diploma. If you have fur­ther­more com­pleted your 18th year by the begin­ning of the voca­tional edu­ca­tion, just send us an non-bind­ing appli­ca­tion. Voca­tional edu­ca­tions always begin on the 1st of Sep­tem­ber.

Management Assistant for audio-visual media – in general

Man­age­ment assis­tants for audio-visual media work in media com­pa­nies, espe­cially in the branches TV, radio, film and video pro­duc­tions, music, multi media and cin­ema. They take on com­mer­cial occu­pa­tions in the areas pro­duc­tion organ­i­sa­tion, mar­ket­ing and dis­tri­b­u­tion, or com­pany intern admin­is­tra­tion and con­trol. Office admin­is­tra­tor for audio-visual media know the prod­ucts and ser­vices, as well as the pro­duc­tion forms and processes com­pany intern and extern. In regard to plan­ning, pro­duc­tion and dis­tri­b­u­tion of audio-visual media, they ful­fil com­mer­cial, organ­i­sa­tional and logis­tic tasks and thereby take into account the cost effec­tive­ness of their actions. Office admin­is­tra­tors for audio-visual media can work in all branches of the media sec­tor. They are in gern­eral respon­si­ble for com­mer­cial and organ­i­sa­tional tasks, as diverse as these may be.

Media Designer for audio-visual Media – in general

Media design­ers for audio-visual media work at insti­tu­tions for film or tele­vi­sion, e.g. at radio or TV broad­cast­ing sta­tions, or at film or audio edit­ing com­pa­nies. Accord­ing to type, size and struc­ture of the com­pany they work in pro­duc­tion rooms, stu­dios or at chang­ing work­ing places. Pro­duce footage and audio record­ings alone (cam­era oper­at­ing) alone or in the team (cam­era assis­tance).
Posi­tion the cam­era accord­ing to edi­to­rial guide­li­nes and light the sce­nes.
Real­ize shoot­ings
Con­trol the audio record­ings accord­ing to edi­to­rial guide­li­nes, in par­tic­u­lar select and posi­tion micro­phones, con­nect cam­era and audio record­ing devices, con­trol the record­ing level, mix and record the sound.
Dis­man­tle the devices after the shots/ record­ings and – if nec­es­sary — return them to the rental firm.
Check the shots/ record­ings in regard to tech­ni­cal fault­less­ness and com­plete­ness.
Select and provide the nec­es­sary devices punc­tu­ally, hold ready tapes, cables and other required mate­ri­als.
Sift and exam­ine the shots/recordings

Film and Video Editor – in general

Film and video edi­tors work in the film and tele­vi­sion sec­tor, e.g. in radio and TV broad­cast­ing sta­tions or at film edit­ing com­pa­nies. Their work places are edit­ing rooms, film stu­dios, archives and repos­i­to­ries. Film and video edi­tors orga­nize, exam­ine and treat footage, sound record­ings and scrip­ture mate­ri­als like scripts, treat­ments or sto­ry­boards. They pre­pare film and sound mate­ri­als for the syn­chro­ni­sa­tion of vision and sound, and edit voice, sounds and music accord­ingly. Finally they check and archive the mate­ri­als.

Orga­nize, exam­ine and edit deliv­ered footage, sound record­ings, ani­ma­tions and scrip­tures and ana­lyze them for the edit­ing.
Edit audio and video mate­ri­als.
Cre­ate visual effects.
Select the best shots accord­ing to visual cri­te­ria and also in regard to the pos­si­ble after effects.
Pre­pare the mate­rial for syn­chro­ni­sa­tion and edit voice, sound and music syn­chro­nously.
Work in cut­ting rooms, with elec­tric or dig­i­tal edit­ing sys­tems and visual mix­ing pan­els.
Archive footage and sound record­ings.
Edit images on the mix­ing panel, pay­ing regard to cam­era move­ment, pos­si­ble after effects, stor­age media and other fac­tors.

Media designer for dig­i­tal and printed media are con­cerned with the design­ing of infor­ma­tion media, with cus­tomer con­sult­ing, with the cre­ation of con­cepts and are also respon­si­ble for the pro­duc­tion.

Pre­pare data for mul­ti­ple using.
Pro­duce ani­ma­tions and visual effects.
Opti­mize data by the accord­ing appli­ca­tions and merge and con­vert them to a media pro­duct, e.g. for inter­ac­tive using.
Cre­ate and pro­duce offline and online pre­sen­ta­tions.
Install hard and soft­ware.
